When talking to the clients, the biggest request was: “use and abuse colors”. Therefore, the project premise was to consider a palette of cheerful colors, which would bring more life to the apartment and match with all the elements.
As it is a duplex, on the ground floor there are the kitchen, laundry area, TV room, toilet and balcony. We designed it to integrate all these spaces, unifying the kitchen and the laundry area, and glazing the balcony to increase the usable space.
To disguise the service area, we designed a large slatted closet, with a “shrimp” opening system, making it easy and permitting full access to the space.
The kitchen has a beautiful Corian island, which contains the sink, wet gutter and cooktop. This island has a detail: in front of the cooking area, it is higher to become a dining counter.
The home theater, contrasting with the kitchen, was crafted with blue lacquered panels and freijó wood shelves. This contrast sought to organize the space and aesthetic agrees with the gray tone of the kitchen lacquer.
The balcony is a separated space, not only because of its independence from other spaces, but because of the use of hydraulic tiles on the floor and demolition bricks on the walls. The glazing has a sliding system, in which the roof can be opened to enjoy the space as if it were an outdoor area.
On the upper floor we have the master suite with generous space to create a home office. It was worked in softer colors such as green and white, to bring greater tranquility, and wooden flooring, bringing greater thermal comfort.
The staircase is another prominent element, in whose walls niches were excavated, creating a large library and place for decoration. The painting also stands out with its orange tone, which matches the wooden floors.
Thus, the apartment has a unique identity, combining colors, textures, joinery and designer furniture, transforming the previously monotonous space into a colorful, harmonious and functional landscape.
