Elevate’s ISOGARD HD cover board is a 12.7 mm thick, high-density, closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core laminated on both sides to a mineral-coated fiberglass facer.
When foot traffic on the roof is frequent, mineral wool insulation runs the risk of being crushed, or in the case of plastic foam insulation, the adhesion of the facer to the foam can be affected. ISOGARD HD spreads the load and improves the protection of the insulation boards underneath. It combines impact resistance, ease of installation, and is used as a recovery board over the existing roofing system, it is an excellent choice for refurbishment projects.
Elevate’s ISOGARD HD has the highest thermal performance of any 12 mm rigid cover board, is resistant to extreme weather conditions, and has a superior wind uplift performance.
ISOGARD HD cover boards are very lightweight: A single 1.22 m x 2.25 m board weighs only 5 kg. They are very easy to handle and quick to install, which also reduces installation time and labor costs.
ISOGARD HD has a high compressive strength of over 800 kPa (5 to 6 times that of a normal PIR insulation board). It adds structural strength to the entire roofing system and absorbs the effects of hail, foot traffic, and other potentially damaging impacts. It also enhances the fire performance of the roofing system.
ISOGARD HD boards are also very environmentally friendly because of their composition of mold-resistant material that does not support the growth of damage-causing fungi and bacteria. Boards are manufactured with a 100% fiberglass, mold, and moisture resistant facer and contain more than 9% of post-consumer and post-industrial recycled combined content. The foam technology uses an HCFC-free blowing agent with a low GWP (Global Warming Potential) and zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential).
When ISOGARD HD is correctly installed, it will last for the lifetime of the building.
