Peter Pichler, Rosalba Rojas Chávez, Lourenço Gimenes and Raissa Furlan have been announced as Archello Awards 2024 jurors, adding even more talent and experience to the outstanding international panel. Read on to learn more about their careers and work:
Peter Pichler, born in Bolzano, Italy in 1982, pursued his Architecture studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the University of California (UCLA) in the United States. Throughout his education, Peter gained valuable experience at renowned architecture offices such as Zaha Hadid Architects in London, Delugan Meissl in Vienna, and OMA / Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam. After graduation, he worked as a project architect for Zaha Hadid Architects in Hamburg, contributing to award-winning projects and competitions worldwide. In 2015, he co-founded Peter Pichler Architecture in Milan with his wife Silvana Ordinas.
Peter's architectural philosophy emphasizes a strong connection to the culture and history of a place, integrating vernacular architecture, materials, and elements with contemporary technology. Recognized as a young Italian talent by the National Chamber of Architects in Italy, he has received nominations and awards, including the Gold Medal of Architecture Prize of the Triennale di Milano and the Dezeen Awards for Emerging Architect of the Year. He is a registered architect in Italy and a member of the Order of Architects of the Province of Milan. Archello recently profiled Pichler's project for the Bonfiglioli Headquarters in Bologna, Italy.
Rosalba Rojas Chávez serves as the Marketing and Communication Director and Director of Fundación Sordo Madaleno. She holds a BA in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana and a MA in Marketing and Brand Management from Universidad Anáhuac. From 2011 to 2014, she worked at Rojkind Arquitectos, transitioning to Director of Marketing and Communication at Sordo Madaleno in 2014, where she also oversees Fundación Sordo Madaleno since 2023.
In 2015, Rosalba initiated a project for the recovery and preservation of the historical archive of Juan Sordo Madaleno, including ongoing research on his life and work. She is the author and coordinator of the book “Shaping Transformation: Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos,” edited by Barry Bergdoll, and the recent exhibition of the same name at the Palacio de Iturbide de Fomento Cultural CitiBanamex. Archello recently named Sordo Madaleno to its list of 100 best architecture firms in the world.
Lourenço Gimenes, a founding partner of São Paulo-based studio FGMF, is an Architect and Urban Planner from FAU-USP, with a Master of Science degree and participation in the PhD graduate program also at FAU-USP. Having collaborated with various offices including Architectures Jean Nouvel in Paris, Cabinet Alliaume in Paris, Índio da Costa in Rio de Janeiro, and Baggio Pereira & Schiavon in Curitiba, Lourenço oversees the concept design of projects at FGMF alongside other founding partners, and manages commercial strategies and international relations. Since 2002, he has been a professor at institutions like the Istituto Europeo di Design in São Paulo, UNIP, Mackenzie, FAAP, and FAU-USP, also serving as a guest professor in workshops at MIT, Columbia University, and IHP University. Archello recently named FGMF to its list of 100 best architecture firms in the world.
Raissa Furlan is Partner and Director of Studio Arthur Casas. Furlan earned her degree in Architecture Design from Valencia College, USA in 2009, followed by a Bachelor of Architecture and Urbanism from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado in 2014. In 2017, she completed her Master's Degree in Architecture Project Management from Mackenzie University, Brazil. Joining Studio Arthur Casas’ international team in 2012, Raissa has been based in the New York office, contributing significantly to the development of commercial, hospitality, residential, and restaurant projects. In 2022, she assumed the role of Partner Director of the international team, leading projects across Portugal, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Croatia, Mexico, Uruguay, and other countries. Archello recently named Studio Arthur Casas to its list of 100 best architecture firms in the world.
