Perched on the western slope of Shoal Creek, Pemberton Heights nestles amidst a grove of majestic Live Oak trees. Architect Christopher Sanders AIA and his team, captivated by this natural beauty, paid homage to it through the home's exterior. Brick and wood echo the organic landscape, while the building's footprint and form merge with the existing trees, their canopies dictating the flow of the structure. To further connect the home to nature, windows are strategically placed to embrace natural light and the captivating treescape. A light well above the highest roof gently illuminates the private spaces on the second floor, while bathing the ground-floor kitchen in a warm glow. Dornbracht’s Tara Ultra faucet is used in the kitchen. The faucet's clean lines and minimalist aesthetic complement Pemberton Heights' contemporary style. The Chicago Sunset apartment takes its name from the breathtaking city views it offers. Designer Andrey Bezuglov masterfully curates a space that blends contrasting elements. Originally two units, the apartment now features a clear division between private and common areas. The shared space stuns with a monochrome palette, showcasing a textural mix of styles and finishes. Metal partitions with handcrafted ribbed glass separate the entrance, while a vintage Dutch workbench takes center stage, transformed into a stylish bar counter. Comfort reigns supreme, with a custom-built height for the bar and an incredibly plush Roche Bobois armchair in the divan zone. To the left of the bar, a sleek kitchen boasts a marble island with a split edge, and on the right, a dining table basks under the glow of a unique Ochre chandelier. The Wadia Residence renovation transforms a 3,000-square-foot Manhattan duplex loft on lower Fifth Avenue into a comfortable family home for a couple with two young children.
